The Cynwyd Heritage Trail
The Cynwyd Heritage Trail
2010
On Thursday, July 22nd at 6 p.m. an informational meeting will be held in Bala Cynwyd Park to review final plans for Park improvements relating to the Cynwyd Heritage Trail. Participants will meet by the Park’s Comfort Station Building and Director of Parks and Recreation Lindsay Taylor and Assistant Director of Building and Planning Christopher Leswing will be on hand to present information and answer questions.
“The plans we will review are a refinement of what was developed during the public design process and what was approved by the Board of Commissioners in May,” noted Leswing. “Because several improvements are planned, this meeting was scheduled to provide citizens the chance to better understand how the different components will fit together.” Topics for discussion include:
•Creation of a dog park/run parallel to the trail between Belmont Avenue and the Comfort Stations;
•Renovations to existing comfort stations;
•Creation of a new public parking lot by the comfort stations along with driveway improvements connecting to Trevor Lane;
•Pedestrian connections between the park and the trail; and
•Creation of wetland to manage stormwater in the flat, marshy area between the Vine Creek culvert and Trevor Lane.
